The work Standstill, completed as a final project at the Estonian Academy of Arts, consists of 12 paintings.
The starting point of the work is an absurd situation from years ago. I was on a cross-country trip with my horse, and in the middle of the ride, the horse decided to stop where it was and did not move anywhere for the next two hours. The memory began to haunt me in the midst of an artistic crisis. There was a clear connection between sitting on a motionless horse, pale, and working without progress.
